State police have confirmed that actress Shalu Menon was with Biju Radhakrishnan the day he escaped. Biju Radhakrishnan, the prime accused in the solar panel scam was alleged to have been with Shalu Menon and her mother in Thrissur the day Saritha Nair was arrested. It is also alleged that Shalu Menon is also involved in the solar panel scam involving Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha Nair.
According to the statements given by those questioned, Shalu Menon and Biju Radhakrishnan are alleged to have had close links. It has also been reported that Biju had introduced Shalu to those persons from whom he had taken money from, as the company's executive director. "Shalu had a vital role in the recruitment of staff for the company," said the statement recorded in Thiruvananthapuram city police station.

Biju is said to have taken a room in a hotel in Thrissur under the name of Dr. Biju. He is said to have fled for Tamil Nadu immediately after reports of Saritha’s arrest came up.
